Session Replay
beta
Reconstruct sessions from recorded interaction events and play them back in a time sequence. Session Replay is powered by your configured Content Tracking events and helps you understand what happened—without recording user-entered data or PII.
Key Features
- Time-Sequence Reconstruction: Rebuild sessions by ordering recorded events and interactions over time
- Interaction Coverage: See on load, on view, on click, on focus, on input, on mouse movement, and on scroll interactions
- Chrome Extension Viewer: Securely access replays via a Chrome extension designed for reviewing session behavior
- Role-Based Access: Locked down to specific user roles so only authorized team members can view replays
- Privacy by Design: Does not track or record user-entered data, form values, or PII
How It Works
Session Replay pulls event data emitted by your configured Content Tracking and reconstructs the session as a time-ordered sequence. The replay viewer (Chrome extension) fetches only the session event stream needed to render the replay and is restricted to authorized roles.
Use Cases
- Understand user flow and friction points without asking users for a screen recording
- Reproduce UI issues and confirm what users actually did leading up to a problem
- Validate onboarding changes and product experiments by reviewing real interaction sequences
